Brigitte Sire Photographer

My friend's favourite photographer and it's not hard to see why. Resonating with calm, wistfull romance, candy colours and beautifully captured moments, Sire's photos are just plain lovely to look through. Her black and white reportage for me has shades of Robert Frank and Nan Goldin which instantly endears her to me. We commissioned her recently for a shoot with M.I.A , I'll put one up of that shoot up after it's gone to press.

The Informant

Went to see The Informant the other night. My first time in a Leicester Square cinema. Not exactly glamorous however, if anything the interior of The Empire is a bit stinky in contrast to it's glitzy exterior. Anyway, the film was really funny, a lot of the humor coming from the thoughts of the character Mark Whitacre (played by Matt Damon.) Visually it's also really great, lots of beige office furniture and Damon looking fat with a tash, a toupee, slacks and bad knitwear.

Chanel Paris-Shanghai Métiers D'Arts collection 09/10

The Métier D'Arts collections were established in 2002 following Chanel's acquisition of the seven specialist Parisian ateliers that have collaborated with the house for decades: the metal-crafts house of Desrues; the feather-maker, Lemarié; the embroiderer, Lesage; the shoemaker, Massaro; the milliner, Michel; the goldsmith, Goossens; and the flower-maker, Guillet. Each year, Lagerfeld has created a Métier D’Arts collection, to showcase their works together with his own Chanel designs.

Team Jacob

I know he's barely old enough to drive but I'm sorry, if you're going to take photos of him chopping wood and running around in the sea in a tight t.shirt then it's difficult for me not to swoon (like a woman in a Jane Austen novel, I may faint and the smelling salts will need to be fetched.) I jumped ship from Team Edward after about 3 seconds in to the New Moon film. Shockingly unloyal but I'll admit it.
I'll post this in the fragile arty/creative guise that it's me alerting you to the great photographer Mark Seliger, but I'm sure you won't be concentrating on this blurb anyway.

PS. There are rumors that Armani want to sign him up to advertise his clothing range.

Galliano Tree at Claridge's

Claridge's Hotel in London has really outdone itself this season.
Their Christmas Tree was created by John Galliano. The hotel wanted to do something different, while reflecting the traditional style of the season. They wanted to take inspiration from the cold weather, but also from a wilder, more natural style. And so, designer John Galliano froze a tropical tree and added some dragonflies, leopards and parrots in varying blue tones.
The tree was inspired by the art deco style of the hotel.
