End of Kodachrome

Steve McCurry is the photographer who shot on the last role of Kodachrome ever to be produced after Kodak stopped production of the slide film this year. "I want to take the last roll with me and somehow make every frame count just as a way to honor the memory and always be able to look back with fond memories at how it capped and ended my shooting Kodachrome" said McCurry.

See Steve's work on his website. Too many amazing images to pic favorites!

Douglas Coupland fashion line

Douglas Coupland has teamed up with Roots.com to launch his own fashion line, Roots x Douglas Coupland. On the Roots website there are also a set of videos to watch about the collaboration. "I've never really seen too much difference between writing or making visual art or designing furniture or clothing. It's still my brain – I'm just using different parts of it for different things, I began doing writing projects and art and design projects to explore a new way of seeing Canada. Roots is one more way of continuing this exploration. I want to present a wide-open Canadian sense of colour, adventure, communication and openness that defines our country." If you haven't heard of Coupland and his Generation X, I insist that you start you DG education right this instant! :-)

D-Vision design

A bowl comprised of varying volumes of spheres, to place fruit of different sizes, in a way that enables to position the object in a new equilibrium each time, due to the change in the center of gravity.
  Snack bowl.
When you have company and lots of snacks to serve... just take a flat foil and within seconds transform it into a snack bowl.

Salt and pepper shakers.
A hard shell container wrapped with a soft rubbery material that protects the contents from humidity.
Lightly squeeze the soft coating to revile its holes for use.

The same plastic glass can be mounted with different coasters. Each one, changing its purpose and appearance.

Apple Dish
By creating an appropriate place in the dish, your fruit waste becomes an esthetic
part of your meal.

Native Shoes - straight from Canada, described by the makers as "Footwear for the future done in the style of everything we've ever loved about shoe design."
I'm thinking a pair of pink or a pair of yellow 'Millers', maybe one colour on each foot.
Want them.
